2021

DMU 210 added to increase production rate

2020

HAAS VF6SS added for production milling
Mastercam added for increased programing capabilities

2019

Zeiss Accura added for increased inspection envelope to accommodate larger components

2018

NTX 2000 added for Turn Mill capabilities

2017

Jobs Ever 7 added for increased 5 axis capabilities and dimensional limits

2014

DMU 100 was added to for production style machining and decrease machine time

2013

DMU 65 was added for with production style machining

2011

IMS received AS 9100  + ISO 9001:2008 certification.

IMS has increased our capabilities for turning and milling of long shafts with the addition of a Mori Seiki NL3000MC/3000 Horizontal Lathe with Milling and Live Tooling.

2010

Purchased New ROMI 27” x 120” CNC Lathe

2009

IMS has enhanced its 5-axis capabilities with purchase of a Mitsui Seiki HS6A Horizontal Machining Center with a Fanuc 30i Control and 12000RPM for full5-Axis machining capabilities up to 79”x59”x39”

2007

IMS has completed an 8,750 square foot expansion to accommodate the larger manufacturing equipment, this bring our manufacturing facility to 25,000 sq. ft.

IMS has increased the maximum milling capabilities to 90”x165” with the addition the of a new Vision Wide VF4000 Bridge Mill.

Turning capacity has been increased with the addition of a Toshiba TUD-13 turning lathe with a maximum swing of 63”

2006

Now with more than 20 CNC’s. Wire EDM and precision grinding machines, we focus on precision machining and the manufacture of molds.

IMS has added wire EDM to it’s in-house capabilities with the addition of the Mitsubishi FA-20S

2004

IMS included robotic welding in our support services.

2003

IMS has increased the maximum turning capabiliies to 78.75” with the addition of an OM-Ltd. VT5-16N (e) VTC Vertical Turning Lathe.

1997

IMS completed a 3,500 square foot expansion.

1995

Willis Tool & Die, Inc. officially changed the corporate name to IMS, Inc. (Industrial Manufacturing Specialties, In.)

1994

Added 4 & 5-Axis programming and machining capabilities

1992

Following completion of his MBA, Pete Willis joined the company as VP, working in all aspects of company operations.

1990

First of several CNC machines were acquired to improve accuracy and productivity
Louise Willis joined the company full time for mold design and engineering

1986

Willis Tool & Die purchased IMS, Inc.

1983

Designed and built first of many rubber molds.

1982

Polan Willis started Willis Tool & Die with 17 years of experiences as Toolmaker, Shop Manager and Engineer.
